Chinese New Year holidays

As same as every year, Chinese New Year holidays is a large busy duty in ED since all local medical clinics closed in this annual holidays. All patients , whatever acute or chronic, AGE or URI, asthma or CHF, CVA or renal colic rush in ED for immediate treatment or medications. This is the most busy time of the year. Years over years , same and even more statistic numbers pointing to a peak this year. Local clinics can take vacations but not ED. We can only take shift with other colleagues. That's the life in ED but it is challenging. How to diagnose or manage a critical and acute patient in the rush hour is not easy thing. We must learn and survive in order to be a successful AED(Attending in ED).
