Aging of ED attending
Recently felt very tired after duty and cannot focus on paper work nor research work.
It's seemed to be due to aging (now 43) and both energy and power are not enough.
Besides when you work as an attending physician, your loading may not be increased but your responsibility is increased a lot. You have to keep control of all colleagues in ER include residents and nurses and sometimes intern/clerk. Sometimes disbute or problem is not medical nor surgical but administrative . You have to make the final decision because you are the highest rank on scene. Leadership training is needed for attending physician in ER.
My personal opinion is ER working is best for young physician (age 20-40) due to young age capable of night shift and stress work loading. Above 40 should decreased on duty days or shift to administrative work like chief of department. On the other hand, not everyone suitiable for the department chief. You should have some kind of power and leadership so that everyone listens to you. It's not an easy thing at all.

Weather changed again
Weather change colder for the past 2 days from 28 C to 18 C , a drop of nearly 10 C. Sunshine is less and even raining last 2 nights. I pick out the jacket to wear , hope not to bring out the short one again. Weather turns cold and halloween is over , then Christmas holidays are coming soon.
Thinking of Christmas holiday , you just think 2 things- christmas presents and where to go for holidays. Still planning and not decided yet.

Hot weather in November
Recently in Taipei the weather is about 22-28 C. Sometimes in daytime will up to 30C. It's strange and rarely in November. See the weather around the world:
Hong Kong 22-28 C
Tokyo , Japan 16-21 C
Bejing, China -2 - 10 C
Shanghai 13-18 C
Singapore 24-31 C
LA, USA 11-20 C
Las Vegas, USA 9-18 C
Boston, USA 2-5 C
Vancouver, Canada 5--12C
Toronto, Canada 7-1C
I had to pick up my packed short sleeves to wear in these few days.
Hard to belive such hot and sweating weather in mid-November.
In South-East Asia , we seldom felt cold except Korea and northern part of Japan.
It's rarely snowing too. I had not been seen snowing since I am born. May be sometime in the furture I travel to USA for a snowing Christmas.
Speaking about Christmas, it's about a month or so away.
Everyone should be prepare for picking up presents and preparing for vacations.
I don't know whether it is cold or warm in coming Christmas.
